Hi all just a short story about one of my finds.
It was around about the same time that my wife was expecting our 3rd child at anyytime i purchased a new sovereign xs pro, I was eager to get out with it but the wife told me that i was not going anywhere and that i was to stay put. Angry Two day's later my baby girl arrived, we did not have any name's ready so when she was born i said off the top of my head victoria, my wife agreed. When they both came home my wife said that i could go out and play with my new toy so within a flash i was gone, Grin I went down to my local beach and to my surprise the beach was stripped of sand to expose the blue clay, So i switched on my sovereign and started to swing. Within ten min i had a signal,i dug down to about 8" to 10" and to my delight out poped was a shinny gold sovereign on looking closer it was a Queen Victoria. I said to my self what a coincidence that i bought a sovereign i had a baby girl which i named her Victoria and i found the gold full sovereign of Queen Victoria all within  the same week. Cheesy I have decided that when she is 18 i will have it mounted in a necklace. That was ten years ago, She asked to see the coin often and say's that she can't wait untill she's 18 to have it.

well xmas eve last year, my buddy and i hit the fields and pretty soon had found a piece of bronze age pot. no more than 10 minutes later we had a hammered coin of james 1st, with silver and bronze in the bag and the light fading fast, my colleague commented that it would be nice to complete the set with the gold!, as we made our way back to the car.

true enough, 2 minutes later i pulled an 1899 half sovereign out of the ground.

spooky, or what!!  [and my detecting buddy is  a retired priest as well!]

Nice story falcon  Cheesy Cheesy
- I bought a fisher detector and found fishing weights !!! Grin Grin
Then I bought a minelab and you've guessed it I found a MINE Shocked Shocked Shocked - turned out to be an anti tank mine left over from the second world war right in the middle of a footpath, I thought it was a frying pan left over by some campers untill I saw the markings and the detonator-  Shocked Shocked when I  eventually pulled myself out of the ditch  Grin Grin I gingerly covered it up and called the police, It was detonated a couple of days later by the BOMB SQUAD - from there  I guess things could only get better ....... Wink Wink -
