Let the Hounds Do The Digging !

Out detecting last weekend with the LoveDoc.
It was belting down with rain and gale force winds, both soaked to the skin,  but we were enjoying it.
In the distance we could hear the Hunt, the hounds were barking like mad , so we knew they were on to something.Doc had just pointed out, the fox running along a river bank.
By now the hounds were getting closer, but still we could'nt see them.
I was standing under a tree having a smoke, while Doc was busy digging a signal, all of a sudden about 20 hounds run towards us, the leading hound jumped straight head first into where Doc was digging, the others encircled us.
I froze on the spot, Doc just stood up and said to the dog, who was still digging away, thats the way fella don't stop.
With this the dog popped his head out of the hole looked at the pair of us, as if to say do it yourself, turned round and run away  , taking the other hounds with him. 
Take about funny, we just stood there laughing  , never did find anything in that hole Lol

I think the dog probably swallowed what ever was in the hole mate....lol ........ Hope that poor fox got away though ! I thought hunting with the dogs was banned

With dogs,
•foxhunting
•deer hunting
•hare hunting
•hare coursing
•mink hunting
these are all banned but drag hunting and scent hunting are not, they quite often pick up the scent of a fox and make a kill.
The use of dogs to flush out certain prey to be shot or falconry is not banned.

come to think of it.... we didnt see anyone on horseback either ! just 3 blokes , none of which had a gun.  Pretty confusing really ! im not pro hunt or against it but i wouldnt want to be the fox i can tell ya. Some loopholes in the law there robert ? How would they actually stop 20 hounds before they ripped the fox to bits ?

ohhh bet that was scary and funney  good job you didn't have any fox scent on you lol.
 so they were acting illegally  then without any other means to kill the fox hey,
 great detraction for them Boys  lol keep it up, lol .  perhaps you can throw some aniseed balls around hee hee,   do they still sell them in the sweetshops i wonder ??
