Being unfortunate enough to have been given the name Philip myself (My dear old mum named me after HRH prince Philip aka Phil the greek)
Ive had a few wild and wonderful nick names in my 44 years i think the best one was
Phil Mcavity  Shocked lol

Philip is a given name, derived from the Greek Philippos (Φίλιππος), meaning "lover of horses" or "friend of horses". From φίλος (philos) "lover" and ίππος (hippos) "horse".[1] Philip (and alternative spellings Phillip, Philippe, Philipp, Felip, Felipe, Filip, Filippo, Filipe) and its diminutive Phil
