Jon, if there's a rally you fancied going to and can get transport, give me a shout, if i'm going as well your welcome borrow my backup machine (a Quattro).
I wont be attending the next D.W one though, i've made other arrangements, but i'm probably going to most of the others, including any Cardiff scan or RARE ones that pop up.

Whoops! I posted this in the wrong thread.

Jon
Not sure how good you are with electronics or computers, but  Explorers, Etrac's, Quattro's and safari's suffer occasionally from an easily rectified problem, and that is loose plug connections. If you take off the control panel face plate and turn it over you will see two white plugs, one has a single wire the other has 4, it is usual the single that works itself loose but unplug and plug them both. It is worth checking and cheaper than the post to Ireland.

Cheers for the input lads. Just passed the detector on to my father in law who is an electrician. Checked all the faults you suggested but nothing obvious unfortunately. He is going to give it a thorough once over. Thanks for all the input guys. Thanks for the offer  Salty but I'm thinking of going back to fishing! I'm beginning to think that I'm just not meant to be a detectorist!
