Had a surprise when this popped up yesterday, must have been a foot down (explorer)  Grin Found quite local in the west, dont know if they are more common this way? also found the usual broken fibulas, (think they are following me around the country  Grin) and a denarius last week in the same area but too far gone for ID,
Pleased with the bell.   Smiley

Some nice finds there maxine, very few crotal bells turn up in Wales. If you want, post up some better photos of both sides of the denarius and I'll have a go at the ID.

Well done Maxine - we were only just debating the lack of Welsh crotals the other day. As usual your finds are excellent.

cheers

Thanks all, Smiley ringer has rusted away. Hi Pete, the back of the coin has completely gone no detail at all, I will take it to the meeting see if you think there's a chance of you IDing it. Could be a later date with the quality of the silver, I think there could be a roman farmstead nearby, have'nt found the site yet.  Smiley
