Garret Ace 250 Minelab Safari

« on: October 01, 2009, 03:44:46 PM »

Hi again all, finally plucked up the courage to go ask a farmer if i could do some detecting in his field today. What a really nice lovely old couple they are too. Loads of old iron in the field i was in but i came across this item and am wondering what it is.... the farmer thought it was a plug from an old cider barrel but i think its part of an old tap maybe ? What do you think ?

I agree, part of a barrel-tap handle, 19th century.

Does look like the inside part of a barel tap which controls the flow of liquid.
