Hi all anyone got any idea what this it ? I found it last week in natural woodland
 
Its similar to an anglo saxon strap end ive seen in last months Searcher but not sure due to its size (must have been small belt )

I remember someone putting something like it in the Find of the month last year but i dont remember what Mark lodwick the PAS thought it was..
I think i was to busy gasing lol

Are there any fixing points on it, or any marks on the back that would suggest it had been attached to something? By the pic it looks like a more recent object, what is the thickness of it? Lots of questions I know Phil but it is an intriguing find.

It looks has if it had 2 holes where youd expect them to be on a strap end but no marks i can see on the back, The rest of th item has corroded away past the mounting holes id say is about as think as the card of a ciggy box

Difficult one, looks as if it represents a fish from the photo, but is very thin for a saxon one , 13th to 15th century perhaps? I am probably way out but it's a nice find.

It does look a bit like a spoon handle but its very thin its like the thinkness of thin card
