Does anyone have a spare rechargeable battery pack for an Explorer II gathering dust around their house they want to sell?

I've got a spare battery loading one somewhere, but can't find it and my current rechargeable is only giving me about 6/7 hours at best.

cheers

Hi Neil

I read somewhere its simple to change the batterys in the NiMh rechargeable packs.

You give your pack a full charge split the case test all the batterys with a voltage meter remove the duff battery/s and replace with new ones , simple lol
I,ll have a look where i seen it and send it to you,
Ive seen a few on Ebay recently but you have to think why are they for sale

Good luck with your search
regards
Phil

All is not lost if you are brave.
It is reasonably easy to open and recell the battery pack, if you think you are up to it.
First thing to do is charge the battery pack, then it is a simple matter of breaking the seal of the two shells holding the battery cover together, this is not as hard as it seems you just need to be careful with the tool you use to seperate the case.
Once you have exposed the cells, using a cheap dc volt meter check the voltage of each cell and you will find at least two that show no or very little volts. These are your problem cells, it will be very obvious how to replace these at a considerable less cost than a new battery pack.
Reseal the case with super glue.

Hope this of some help !

regards
Phil

Thats a good idea Phil - but as I am getting a good few hours out of my current battery - I just want to buy a back up. Besides I know that I would only end up messing it up - good suggestion though.
