By request, here is the first of what might become a series if there's enough interest.

Here is a hammered penny. Who is the Monarch and what mint is it?

How did you get to your answer - pure guesswork or did you work it out? If so can you explain how you got there?

Some of these pennies are very difficult to ID exactly, but there are some pointers that are fairly easy to pick up if you take the time to look.

Once everybody who wants to has had a stab at it I'll take you through the stages of ID'ing it.

Can't be 4b, face and hair is shorter in that one, portrait looks like 5b, must be something to do with the lettering and the crown then. not easy is it?
