Hi All

Geoff has kindly added this board after a suggestion by Forum member Rob from IOM
The idea firstly is to announce the passing of a fellow Detectorists to celebrate their lives and achievements and secondly give a chance for friends to maybe relate humourous storys to forum member who might have known the detectorist well or not known him/her at all.
I never thought id be starting this post off, we always think our good friends will be there forever ,sadly as ive found out on a few occasions they dont.

Its with pride and sadness id like to start this board with the passing of Derek Jones ...

I have lost one or two detecting friends over the years and this a wonderful way of celebrating their lifes and having
a laugh at stories of detecting  mishaps ,we all done them . Lets remenber them with a smile on our faces. Smiley Smiley Smiley

Well put Rob !
My wife said to me after Dereks death "apart from your bike friends all your friends all old, youll be going to all your friends fundrals".(Im 44)
I guess shes right Detectorists tend to be in there 50s Derek was my 1st Detecting related friend to have died and its been a great help to think of all the wacky things that made Derek who it was ;0)

I cant wait for my other friends to pass away, ive got some great storys   Tongue lol
