Here it is cleaned up, very pleased with the result, jeweller confirmed Chester hallmark 1912 , 9ct. I will keep this one as it has survived in the sand all this time.

Hi Hedgehog  Smiley I used a scourer to get most the crud off, then a pin for the harder pieces  Grin The jeweller put it in a ulrasonic machine, and then the polisher, I got the remaining tiny bits out with a pin again and a magnifiying glass.  Grin
