Went out detecting today we travelled
approx 60 miles to see if farmers had took the crops in on
our farms when we got there we were gutted
the crops were still out we decided to travel home that would be
120 miles round trip on the way home i spot a couple of fields
which the grass had been cut down the road the farmer was going through
his gate i said quick go and have a chat with the farmer
to my mate knowing he was a sweet talker
they started talking and the farmer started saying
the best field you can detect in boy is the one
opposite but i got my potatoes in there now i have been pulling some strange
metal things out of the field i have had an overhead photo of the field
and it shows circles and all different shapes you can do that field next mth
when i got my crop in but if you go up the top you can do the fields i have cut
up the field we went i pulled out my detector off the back seat of his car he went
to the boot all i could hear him scream was f*****g b******d i said whats the matter
he said ive left my control box in the house i put my detecter back on the back seat
we traveled the 60 miles home got his box went to another 1 of our farms which is 20miles away but we had a good day though we travelled 140miles to go to a farm 20miles away  Embarrassed

That's a great story Steve, that field sounds interesting now  Grin Nothing worse than forgetting something and not being able to detect, hope you are going back to that field in a months time!

I always get the sweats about my battery. I got an awful habit of doing things and not remembering doing it!

Everytime I put my battery on charge I think "I'm going to forget that one day"  So I always leave the pod which holds 8xAA batteries and 8 new batteries in my detector carry bag.  Smiley Smiley

I usually put my detector away in it`s carrybag after cleaning it but went out yesterday on a bit of a whim, last minute,& just grabbed the detector without the bag & rushed out the door. After about 2 hours detecting the batteries ran out & guess where i keep my spare batteries??  Grin D`oh
