British Snider-Enfield Rifle, calibre .577". This rifle was made in 1862 but was converted from muzzle-loading to breech-loading about 1867. This rifle was presented to the 1st Durham Rifle Volunteers at Stockton by Captain Thompson as a musketry prize and was won by Sergeant Chambers. Acc No: 2093

Any chance of putting rifle names to this collection Jonola ? I'd like to label them up , it makes the collection much more interesting if you can add the history to the objects.

I'll take a look. Some are impossible as the same ammuniton is used in different firearms. For example the the same round below is fired by the pistol and machine gun below.

I've fired one of these. It would give your desert Eagle a run for its money  Wink Incidentally, my skill at arms instructor in the army told me if you are more than 30 feet away from your target with a pistol....chuck it at them!
