I think it's papal states, but that is as far as my knowledge goes! Dunno what the papal states were or the date that they were in circulation . looks like the pope on the one side kneeling down in front of God, on the other one person walking, I would appreciate a lesson on these coins , thanks in advance. Huh

Nice find, but it's not a solidus, it's a Venetian soldino. This one was issued for Doge Leonardo Lauredan 1501-1521. See this link for loads of info:
