Recently aquired my new Minelab Manticore so eager to try it out i headed to my permission site of many years tha site is pasture and has one field ploughed every year ,as i walked throughthe gate on to the grass field i set the Manticore up in All Terrain General and sensitivity at 22 i had only walked about fifty feet in to the field swinging the machine when i heard a mid audio tone so as i started to dig  and remove soil the signal was still there at depth way down at 10 to 11inches i was surprised and impressed to see a small hammered coin sitting in the bottom of the hole wow!. In all my years of hunting  this site i have never had a hammered coin out from here and i have used many different machines on this field E.Trac Ctx 3030 and Deus to name a few , the coin turned out to be a small Edward I silver penny in very good condition i also recovered on this first trip with the new machine a 1942 sixpence five copper Georgians in the usual crusty state plus a musket ball , three pieces of shaped iron were also dug ,a pleasing hunt with the new Manticore though and i hope more hammerds will come up as a result of Minelabs latest creation.

Wot; no pics?

Remembering the Staffordshire hoard, me thinks that you may be
 onto a winning partnership there.

Sorry i tried to upload pic but saying file to big so won't let me i have had eight searches with my new Manticore now and have had seven silver coins ,very very good well pleased oh! and an old gold ring from the beach which was broken never mind the Manticore sings. I am advertising a Manticore on here for a friend of mine and i cannot for the life of me understand why he wants to sell it superb detector not even my finds so far have convinced him to keep it.

I just had a peep at the prices for the Manticore 'new' and they certainly don't
come cheap; do they?

Hello, use this link (its safe), I use it everyday to compress images. Just upload the images, then make sure the result is below 400KB for this site. If the default compression is still above 400KB, then reduce the quality till it is. Its very simple. Then download the images and then upload them here!!

No the Manticore is not cheap i sold a few of my other detectors to get mine ialso run the Deus 2 which i recently aquired
it's either save your pennies up or sell machines etc to get one or if you are rich buy outright,

Hmmm; me is thinking that your Manticore may eventually pay for itself.
I will be interested to read how the Manticore can cope with Talacre Sands.
