Years ago I decided to take up sea fishing, got all the gear (but no idea), made a fool of myself birdsnesting my line by not being able to cast with a new fangled reel, asked a friend if I could practice in his field and lost a few weights during the process, gave it up as a bad job but it may explain why the weight was there.
