Hello guy,nice to be back ,with all this nonsence going on,myself and tom went out yesterday,we had abit of a mixed bag,i whittled this beauty out,never seen one before,has anybody else seen anything like it
I also found a bronze axe head in the same field about 2 years ago.cheers guys ,ron.

Morning Ron. That’s a bit different, very nice. Is it a weight or is it a bell ?
It seems to have the same suspension as a Crotal bell.
But of course, if it’s solid it would be a weight.
Nice to see you & Tom got out together after all this wasted time. Do still take care though.

I was going to say this looked like 1500-1700s date to me. But upon research I see this is most likely a Roman Acorn Steelyard weight! Both these examples pictured were found in Europe, Cyprus and Naples, so yours might be a well traveled example. Very nice find! Maybe the rest of the parts are still out there! Something worth recording on PAS!
