Nice Smiley

Is the ring broken - or is it a trick of the light? I've seen a few videos where broken rings come out as 1 or 2 on the Nox - was that the case for you? Were you using Park  / Field, etc?

All in 1 piece mate using detecting sids programme field 1 came in at a solid 7 to be fair I dont dig anything less than 5  especially if the number ain't stable... All the hammereds and this ring ive had with the nox have been stable numbers and tones I'm digging far less junk and as you know I'm finding hammered farthings and pieces of silver buckles so if I'm missing something so be it but I don't think I'm missing much to be fair I dont think I could hack digging 1,2,3, numbers it would take ages to clear a field and most of the time it would be rubbish and if it was any good it would be broken... Like the Gordon heretige video on the nox.... Here's a solid 19 and thats usually a stater 😁😁 fer christ sake just use the machine that suites you and stop trying to find offas cod piece with it.. Just go and  dig enjoy yourself don't knacker yourself in the process😁

As far as i am concerned the main reason to dig a low number is the quality of the tone from both directions
anything from 1 up that is solid, repeatable and not too scratchy i dig....have had several cut coins in the 2-3 range and numerous very small Roman
2-10 range,  gold is the hard one that is very small items, if slightly irregular in shape can give a mixed signal so i believe that the shape of the object
can cause lots of variation...if you do the 90 degree check and there are differences in tone and clean signal can mean irregular shape but still a good target.
On the beach not a problem as i dig all repeatable coin/ring sized objects anyway.
I use the nox 600 and very rarely use anything else other than multi and field 1.
On pasture if reasonably clean i use same settings just max. things out to just above comfortable....Paul

It all depends where you are I mean I've dug minims with the 800 but they was a solid 5/6 ( more if I remember right) I've had cut halves with the nox that come in 11/12 ( maybe the 600 works different) I don't know I'm just going by what works with me, I'm not a expert nor am I trying to be,, but my rule of thumb is solid numbers and tones are the way to go, choose a program and stick with it, dig low numbers ( lower than 5) if they are constant and solid,, that's the way I roll 😁😁.
