Had this cracking little Saxon strap end, bronze with silver inlay. Also something I have wanted to find for a long time the little bronze axe, probably votive, although they were used as an amulet. They dated from around 800 BC- 200 AD, this one I guess is around late Iron Age early Roman, towards the end of the search up popped the little Henry short cross not fully ID yet.
In the early days this field was searched with the Minelab Sovereign XS once or twice but up until now neglected more searches, this I will remedy although the beans are showing now.

Absolutely stunning, superb strap end Paul. And a bonus, it’s Zoomorphic. Love to find something like that.
Also the little Axe. How old do you recon ? Bronze Age ?
No comment on the Henry other than it’s not the 3rd  Grin

Well found again, keep them coming  Wink

Hi Val . The axe head probably dates to late Iron Age, may be in to early Roman.

Excellent finds once again Paul.  The Saxon strap end is something special, a find that most of us will never, ever, unearth.
The little axe head is also a very unusual find and definitely one for the collection.  Were you using the Equinox?
Me and Ron had a day out on a 1000 acre estate yesterday with tumulus etc. and found absolutely nothing except bullets and shotties.  But that's the way the cookie crumbles!!
Cheers and keep these lovely finds coming.  Tom and Ron.
