Hello guys, not a lot happening on here lately, myself and tom went out on the weekend to get some yew tree logs,of which we had permission off the owner,as myself and tom are into some woodturning, anyway we took along our detectors,as we were driving into our permission looking at us in the woods about 10 yards from us was a little muntjac dear looking at us,and right underneath her was a little baby muntjac suckling on her teets, never ever seen that before, anyway back to our detecting we done a couple of pastures,in one spot we picked up 30 musket balls, then I walked over a patch which we done a couple of times,i had a signal which I thought might be another musket, but what a surprise I had when a beautiful henry v111 groat popped up,ho I was smiling like a Cheshire cat, looking forward to Saturday to be out again ,cheers guys Ron & Tom,

Not to mention a Crotal Bell, you didnít did you ?

That is a cracking coin Ron, lovely condition. With all those musket balls in the same field, makes you wonder what else there might be.

I love to catch a glimpse of the wild life. I was in a high field one day and stopped for a breather, as you do, and spotted a Partridge strutting around in the field opposite. Then I spotted a crafty Mr.Fox skirting around the side of him. Watched them for a while fascinated. I was sure the Pheasant knew he was being stalked because every time Foxy got a bit too close He changed direction. In the end mr Fox couldnít resist and made a dash for him. Needless to say the Pheasant took flight, screaming abuse as he went. All part of the pleasure in this hobby.

It was a lovely day out Ron.  The Henry 8th groat cleaned up nice and I wonder if the Doc can tell us which one it is eg. mint, moneyer etc.  We never fail to enjoy the aesthetics and the flora and fauna, and of course it's a bonus when we can collect some wood for our woodturning hobby.  See you soon.  Cheers.  Tom.

Wow that is as good an example as your likely to dig up guys. We all love our detecting  but there's more to it for most of us as you experianced seeing those special wildlife moments. The beuitifulll country side, the weather fresh air, I could go on but you've been there clearly and appreciate it all. Long may you two share that special metal detecting bond together on your trips....Have to go now I've got a tear in my eye  Roll Eyes Grin
