Hi guys here's a few more interesting items from a few more searches in the fields. The brooch is 4th cent BC-3rd BC survived quite well considering. The Groat is as found and in ID. Another selection of musket/pistol shot. A debased Denarius. Some really battered hammered. The Jetton is in fair condition and a collection of lead items..... Wink

Now that’s what’s called,  continuity of occupation  Grin

Well found Paul.  Your fields are very user friendly, free draining and giving, very giving  Roll Eyes
That’s a lovely Jeton and the thimble must have been a good quality one to have survived so well.
I especially like the buttons though. I only seem to find plain ones (the cheapest) the odd one with a pattern can’t wait to fall to pieces 😳

p.s. only 3 & half days to go  Roll Eyes

Thanks Val, I do get plain buttons not surprising as we all know why some fields have  so many lol they are a pain sometimes. Hope to get out again tomorrow or Tuesday.
I had planed to go to London for the auction but couldn't get a train booked early for several reasons and now it's £280 for return, not worth it considering my lot will only last a minute or so. I'll catch it on live video. It's not untill after dinner I reckon. The bus to London we would have to be up at 5.30 and nearly 3hrs travel not worth it.... Wink

Lovely finds again Paul.  Love the brooch.  It's odd that on our Roman site we don't find brooches of any description, only coins.  Had a look at the auction site for Thursday and your coin is definitely the 'star of the show'.  Good luck.  Cheers.  Tom

Some cracking finds again. As Val says, your fields produce lovely condition items. We have several Industrial Plants in our area, including oil refineries which have been here since the sixties. I often wonder does this contribute to the poor condition of finds, especially Bronze. I have several Roman Brooches but all are in badly corroded condition.

Keep finding and showing yours Mr Celticspikey, at least I can see what mine would have looked like once  Grin

The little coin bottom right of the 'battered hammered' seems to be a clipped siliqua.
