After 4 recent sessions out with no luck, today some goodies finally made an appearance!

Lizzie threepence which I think is 1575.

Not sure what the other rather worn silver coin would have been so if anyone has any ideas  Huh

Also, can anyone tell me if this is a crotal bell? If so it would be my first but I'm not 100% that it is one!

Cheers

That’s a very nice Lizzie coin. But I’m sorry to disappoint you on the bell. It’s a door knob.
Google Crotal Bells and you can compare them.
Can’t help with the battered hammie, I’m afraid it’s too far gone for me to guess at but if Probono or the Doc see it they might know.

Not a bad session. Better than my last outing.  Roll Eyes

Well found. The battered coin is a William III sixpence, so milled rather than hammered. Could also be a shilling depending on size.

I think that Val is correct with door knob, rather than crotal bell; but then again, perhaps a drawer knob (furniture knob).

Chris, a knob is a knob is a knob  Grin

Comparison sizes are useful. Without it you can only speculate and door knobs are the most usual find, for me anyway.  Roll Eyes

Thanks for the ID's and comments all. Due to the size, I'd say it's a drawer knob!
