It's nice to find some thing different now and then, found yesterday, it's 60mm in diam and weighs 91 grms and think it is made of brass or bronze.

Looks like some kind of agricultural show medal, but dutch / south african?

It's Polish and it say's Ministry Of agriculture around the outside and on the inside is Achievements Sheep Breeding, I have looked but can not find anything about it.

Nice unusual find Geoff. Knowing the age would help with further info. I know there were Polish prisoners of war in the country. Many of them stayed. I know one of them, a friend of a friend, so to speak.
That could be how it got here !

Thanks Mick I have looked everywhere for info but found nothing, Where did you get the info from Mike ?.
Val, no there is nothing that I can see around the rim, not sure if I should give it a go with electrolysis or not what do you think ?.

I found them for sale on Polish numismatic websites. There is other varieties: silver, gold, brass and for breeding other species.
By font design those medals has been issued between 1930-39.

Well as it’s not gold of little intrinsic value, I’d say yes. If you do it in short bursts it shouldn’t do any harm.
I haven’t got one myself but have read a few reports of results obtained. Just little steps grasshopper  Wink

Can’t remember what or who posted the last report I read, he did say he did 1 min and checked then another 1 min and checked till it was just as he wanted it with some patena left. That sounds sensible to me.
