I thought i would share this with you all,
I went out on tuesday night with the equinox for an hour, whilst out both lugs broke on the coil. I didnt do anything to cause this.  i thought the thumb screw had come loose but when i checked they had both broken!
As you can imagine i was gutted so when i came home i googled the problem and found various posts were people had had the same problem,
one had an email address posted by a minlab manager asking the poster to email him, so i did the same.
Credit to him and minlab he asked me to post the coil to there service centre which i did on wednesday and when i came home from work yesterday there was a new coil waiting for me.

Where is the Minelab service centre these days?Huh

I think they were in to much of a rush with their initial production trying to match their advertising as with the wobbly shafts.

Glad things worked out for you.

Happy Hunting,

Jerry.

Hi Dean,

Can you please send your coil to our UK ASC at the below address.

If the lugs are snapped off, they should also be included in the shipment.

It is also beneficial in assisting your warranty claim if you include a brief note explaining how the lugs snapped/cracked.

MSR

46 Windsor Avenue

Cheam

Surrey

SM3 9RX

Tel: 0208 2414789

Cheers;

No Problem Val, let's hope it doesn't happen again. Saying that I'm not holding my breath. As we all know paying out are hard earned pennies we tend to look after are machines so it's not as if it was miss treated. Reading different threads on other forums it seams people are showing concerns about how things the walls of the lugs are.

Yes I’ve seen some of the discussions. Main concern seems to be the stem. Quite a few have built their own replacements.
Strangely the ones with the concerns seem to be tall and had the stem fully extended. Not a problem for me. Being knee high to a grass-hopper I have literally got a double strength stem.
The lugs are a different story, not much you can do to protect them. I wonder if it’ll become more of a problem in the cold weather, if they’ll be more brittle.
Time will tell.
Thanks for the info. It’s in my note book, just in case !

I’ve just had a funny experience. No rude comments please  Roll Eyes

Just got Steve Cox’s card out to give someone the tel.no. Guess what,,,it’s the same number as the one given for the Official MSR in Surrey.

Go Figure !  Is Steve working for them again ?
