I got this out yesterday,it was on farmland...down five inches.
It is in a bad condition.but I think n can see a 5 on it but I could be seeing things.

Honestly I can’t make out anything intelligent on either side. Best you can do is make guess by comparing sizes e.g. penny, half penny.

Hello Probono, thanks for your interest...the "coin"...if it is !!..
It's about two milemeters thick at it's center..but tapering out to a very thin edge.
My other observation is that it's heavy for its size....just doesn't feel like a usual junk coin.

The best thing you can do with this is to dunk it in coke / vinegar to remove the green corrosion - you might see some details underneath it.

At 2mm thick, it sounds like an early 19th century 1/2 penny coin of George III - after a while you will find enough of these to know roughly what they look like when they are corroded / worn and see the difference between them and the 18th century halfpennies.
