Lol ... I think I know what comming ... But I'll ask anyway ..  due to budget constraints I'm looking for a detector that'll do everything .. mainly pasture and plough but also some beach .. narrowed it down to Garrett 400i and minelab X terra 505 .. any preferences or are they much the same .. or any other ideas for me to look at ... Some years ago I had the Lazer tesoro and a very expensive minelab quattro which was heavy as hell and i didn't get on with

I had the xterra 705 that was a great machine that did it all.
I've got a safari for sale this also will do it all.

I went for the X terra 505 in the end .. wanted the 705 but budget said no . Lol

A used X-Terra 705 is  good value for money these days.  Wink Smiley

Always the way ain’t it. I’ve got a 705 I’m going to sell.
I assume you bought new. Good luck with it. Good machine and will last you longer than going for anything more basic.
