I was digging in Tenby a couple of weeks ago and I found what I think is a boer war/ww1 swagger stick top. It reads 'The Duke Of Wellington Regiment' When I first picked it up i thought it was a pen top! I've looked on the internet and I cannot find any information that the duke of wellington regiment were in Tenby Huh. Also I found 3 bits of pottery can anyone ID them? thank you  Grin

Nice swagger.

The pottery is glazed - and looking at the brown & yellow I'd say 18th / 19th century .

Well found BeachHunter. Nice find for Tenby beach but I see no one has answered your query about the Duke of Wellington Regiment.
It was in existence for a very long time right up to the 1900’s So the most likely explanation is that it belonged to someone who had been in the Regiment and lived and probably died in the location.
Amazing what turns up, usually in the middle of a field, and you wonder how the heck it got there. Sadly it was probably just thrown out with the rubbish.

Thank you very much Val, yes it's crazy where things turn up Shocked I would love to know who it belonged to but sadly i'll never know.
