Me and Ron managed a day out yesterday.  The fields were a bit sticky and we suffered the odd snow storm, but, unperturbed, we carried on and managed a few finds.  After cleaning I found my coins to be from a variety of eras, starting with the four Roman coins (id on the largest one please), then the William 3rd shilling in poor condition, followed by a fair conditioned George 1st halfpenny, George 3rd halfpenny and a Lizzy twopence.  Quite a selection, especially when added to the multitude of buttons, shotties, bullet cases, lead and other scrap we cleared from the fields.  I think both of us filled our bags twice!!
Ron will probably add his photos later.  Cheers and Happy Digging Everyone!!!  Tom.

Nice Domitian (the large roman coin).

A good selection of finds - and it's nice to see a G1 1/2d in reasonably condition Smiley

My day out on Sunday netted me a worn Geo III 1806 1/2d  - which is pretty good for my permission!

Hi Tom, curse this wet stuff makes the fields very difficult, I found that some of mine although they haven't had much rain on them for a few days the cold frosts when the sun thaws them out make sticky conditions as bad as rain. Still enough about my fields you guys have been keeping warm by all the digging and with good results, well done to you both. It won't be long the weather warm up and farmers will be Spring drilling then it will be great conditions for detecting for a while at least.... Wink

Hello guys, yea its nice to get out never mind the weather,it was a bit sticky but we managed, then we went onto some pasture so that cleaned our boots lovely, like tom I also had a couple of georgies 2nd & 111,but also had a couple interesting finds,a lovely coin weight of Charles 1st I think,a couple of roman grots,we tried a new field a bit later in the day didn't do much of it but we found some roman pottery and 2 grots,so I think we will be giving that field a good go one day, anyway that's enough of me blabbering on,here some photos of my finds ,cheers guys Ron.
