Ok back to the same old subject but, My old  [ 2 1/2 year old ] Garrett pin pointer is coming to the end of it's life, falsing like crazy and I've now lost the button. Has anyone any recommendations for a new probe ?  Has anyone found a better or less and less troublesome one ? Where's the cheapest place to buy one ? I normally use Regtons

Hi Dylan, its good to hear your alive and kicking lol, have a look at the wireless xp mi-6, you can marry it to your Fairy Stick, so it comes through your head phones, plus lots of updates etc, it looks a solid bit of kit, I know there not cheap, but to a man of your wealth, its not a problem, you can check out my mi-6 probe Santa brought me, on Sunday if you wish.

I'm afraid I just cannot understand people's obsession with probes. Why anyone would lash out anything between £500 and £2000 on a detector and then spend a further £100 or so on a pinpointer is beyond me. In my experience if you get a signal worth digging and then lose it, then the target has fallen deeper into the hole or its alignment relative to the coil has been disturbed. Another few seconds with the spade will make the signal re-appear. I cannot remember losing a signal permanenty, but I would certainly remember wasting £100 on a probe.

Thanks Andy but my probe needs the Kiss of life, I think I'd better rephrase that. In the heat of the moment it keeps going off in my hand if you see what I mean. Huh Huh

As regards probes I couldn't live without mine they may cost but they certainly save time when digging and as the name says they pinpoint what you are looking for
