Hi guys been busy this week helping my mate lay celotex insulation to the floor of his new build house, so Friday I gave myself the day off. Anyway by 8am I was on the field and these are my results for the day. The half groat is Henry V111 posthumous issue. I would appreciate your thoughts on the bronze item, possible medieval key or mount of sorts Undecided Undecided  Wink

Wow, again, Paul. What a nice mix of finds.
The bronze item could indeed be the top of a key or possibly a small buckle. Given the size it could even be a clothes decoration or one side of a clasp ?

Excellent finds again Paul.  That's the first Henry V111 I've seen.  Great find.  And I'll go along with Val and say the bronze find is part of a key perhaps.
Me and Ron are heading south tomorrow so will post tomorrow evening or Monday.  (If we find anything to photograph of course).
Happy Digging!!  Tom.

Thanks Val, I'll do a bit more research tomorrow to see if I can narrow it down, off to bed now got 3 grandaughters sleeping over, one 10, one 8, and one 4 she has an earache so could be a long night...lol.  Wink

Paul, I’ve found an almost match for the bronze but can’t figure out how to post the pic.

It’s on Pinterest and is listed under Medieval Keys as a Roman bronze folding key 4th - 5th cent. Byzantine culture from 1st to 7th cent.
If you can’t find it send me your email address in PM and I’ll send it as mail.
