Here we go Chris (dingdong).....and of course other members. Wink
Yesterday I headed into the fog on some maise stubble, it's near a Roman site so produces the odd few bits. Anyway first up was the Roman brooch and a early one at that missing the pin but aren't they always  Huh well nearly always. The very next signal produced a recognizable signal in (Full Tones) sound wise, coupled with a meter reading of 86 straight away I was thinking Denari, especially as several has showed themselves in this field. On the first turn of the spade up popped this crudded roman with the hint of silver on the edges, sure enough a Denarius, it took 3 hrs to clean but it turned out to be a little cracker.....Hadrian, moon and star reverse..
My medieval fields has been ploughed  Smiley quite deep by the looks of it, although yet to be seeded!! when it is I will be on and hope to do plenty of posting up. That is when this weather turns to drier conditions, not this weekend by the looks of it.... Wink

What a cracking coin Paul, lovely. And yet another brooch. At least the top is complete. Good finds, again.

Lemon juice followed by ultrasonic clean basically. Not all denari I've found would clean up this way that's for sure..

There are ways of course to clean them more quickly - if you use a stronger acid than citric acid Smiley - but then three hours isn't too bad really.

I tend to use my ultrasonic cleaner for bronzes Smiley

It's come up really nice too - and a great reverse!
