Yesterday I headed into the fog on some maise stubble, it's near a Roman site so produces the odd few bits. Anyway first up was the Roman brooch and a early one at that missing the pin but aren't they always  well nearly always. The very next signal produced a recognizable signal in (Full Tones) sound wise, coupled with a meter reading of 86 straight away I was thinking Denari, especially as several has showed themselves in this field. On the first turn of the spade up popped this crudded roman with the hint of silver on the edges, sure enough a Denarius, it took 3 hrs to clean but it turned out to be a little cracker.....Hadrian, moon and star reverse..
My medieval fields has been ploughed  quite deep by the looks of it, although yet to be seeded!! when it is I will be on and hope to do plenty of posting up. That is when this weather turns to drier conditions, not this weekend by the looks of it....
