Hi, I havent been out in a long while but I found this last week two fields away from the Fosseway.  I thought at first it was an offcut of copper tubing but could it just be a copper ring.  What do you think?

I think your first thought was correct Pete. It does look like an off cut and reminds me of a few that came off the pipes in the kitchen when hubby was re- fitting. The edges seem cut as you would expect from one of those old pipe cutters.
I think we've all found one and wondered, is it, could it be. Maybe next time. Always found it amazing how things like that got into the middle of a field. Now, of course we know.
I own a property with a small amount of land and have been told by a previous resident I have the remains of 2 old cars buried in the field !
Seems it was (and still is) the way to get rid of stuff. Dig a hole and bury it ! Or just chuck it into a corner.

Thanks Val, I thought it probably was just an offcut but I thought if I posted in on DW then somebody on here would know if it was something else. As you say, maybe next time. I also have a car buried in my garden, it was put there during WWII, covered over with earth and used as an air raid shelter.  Maybe thats one I should dig up but I'm not sure what will be left by now. Pete.
