I went to Detectival last weekend and had my first Roman brooch a lovely little trumpet 100-175AD, a Radiate (ID appreciated) and the largest musket ball I've ever had! (loads of musket balls) FLO said a miscast ball but don't what from? Some lovely stuff was coming up  Grin

Big ball looks the right size for canister shot, lots of musket balls there so maybe it was a  battle or skirmish site, in which case maybe they used cannons against opposing troops?
Nice brooch.

Apparently there was a civil war skirmish in the area, also a hunting lodge nearby
