hello guys, myself and tom went out on Saturday, had a beautiful breakfast on the way, full as butchers dogs,we set off for the fields, hoping our roman field was ploughed, but no they still haven't done it yet,so we headed of to another field where we have had some nice finds,at the end of the day we had a variety of finds, including 7 hammered coins which we gave to the land owner, then we had a lovely cup of coffee and some Japanese yes Japanese pudding which was beautiful,we then said our goodbyes and headed for the hills, here are some photos of my finds probably tom will put his up later, cheers guys Ron.

Hi Folks
As Ron said in his post, we had a great assortment of finds last Saturday.  We ended the day with various artefacts, seven, poor conditioned and all small, Hammies, four Roman coins, a couple of tokens, lots of buttons and plenty of scrap.  (My mornings finds attached) It was a lovely day and as usual we enjoyed every minute of it.  Even on the way home we talk about where we are going the next weekend and what, if anything, we could possibly find.  We are convinced (more dreaming) that hoard is out there somewhere for us.
Cheers and Happy Digging!!  Tom.

Thanks guys, we've had some fantastic days this year and hopefully more to come.
Any info on the ring/pipe tamper would be appreciated, possible date/period when it may have been used?
Thanks Again.  Tom and Ron.
