I'm not sure it is series E as that is known as the 'broken letter' series (I have a half noble of that type).

I'll see if I can look it up later, but I find these, let's say a bit challenging to get the correct series....lovely find though Smiley

Series E is part of the fourth coinage, pre-treaty, it's just finding the correct series (or mule if it is one). The half I have has very distinctive broken Es and Rs - hopefully at some point when I am more awake I will get a photo to demonstrate (I've looked at it this evening, but not when I was near my phone!).

I agree with the you and roughneck its could be series E  s1488 or series G s1490 theres very little in the two you may need better photos to be sure, the mintmark is also cross 3  Wink
