I'm making the most of the waning light evenings. Here's a few of my finds, oh and my silver Denarius of course! Not sure what the large lead mount is though?

The lead thing is a whirligig (post medieval toy). Would of been threaded on a chord and spun to make a noise.

Simon, in the top picture the lead weight with the three lines, looks very similar to a Roman 3 oz weight, though a little cruder than the usual ones you see.

Thanks Mark, the reverse is patterned also, I'll post a photo tonight. I also thought that the copper alloy implement may be an ear scraper or similar. It's definitely a site with roman activity as it's where I had my Silver Denarius  Smiley

Well detected Simond,..looks like you have some great land on which to detect.
I'm sure it won't be long before you get into some more interesting finds.
Good hunting..👍

Hi Mark here is an image of both sides. I was thinking along the same lines as I've had similar before but as you know they are difficult date!

certainly has all the hallmarks of a Roman one, a bit crudely made but if you were to ask me I would say yes. Especially with the other finds you have had from there.
