Hello guys, myself & tom went out yesterday, beautiful weather lovely fields half of them had been ploughed & and where we were having some roman coins was still in crop which will be coming off this week weather permitting,so fingers crossed,we had quite a few hours at it yesterday and we were knackered fairplay, but we love it.only one roman coin each but we had a good selection of items from different eras, the hook thing I think is roman because it is pretty weighty and solid,if anybody seen one or got one like it I wood like to know that would be great also had plenty of junk & loads of bullet cases, tom will probably put his up later, cheers guys Ron Wink

Knackered to say the least Ron.  Goodness knows how many times we swung our machines or how many holes we dug during what I think is the longest most gruelling session we have thus far undertaken.  So many diggable signals from bullets, lead fragments, bits of copper, brass, tin and bronze meant we were digging all day.  I think we both filled our finds bags twice during the session.  No great, incredible finds, but a few interesting bits and pieces for our collections and loads of scrap for the weighbridge.
I did manage a silver hammered, a silver love token and two Roman grots amongst my eleven coins. Has anyone come across the badge with 'Australian Commonwealth Military Forces', before?
Anyway, with aching limbs I'm off to rest.  Keep taking the tablets, that's the best!!!
Cheers and Happy Digging!!!
Tom.

Nice finds for you both. The hooked item is a sword-belt mount, 17th Century:

Thanks for all the lovely comments guys and for the id' Doc.  We always enjoy our days out no matter what we find and it's great to know that the experts on the forum are always willing to give help with id's etc.
More and more fields are now being ploughed, but it's always the special field you want ploughed is last on the list for cultivating!! Soon hopefully!!   We're chomping at the bit to get on a known Roman field.
Hope to see some great finds from you guys as the season progresses.  Good Luck and Happy Digging!!  Tom.
