Hi Folks
Me and Ron spent yesterday on one of our permissions, weather was perfect, overcast and not too hot and we found a variety of coins, buttons and bits and pieces.
I found seven Roman bronze/copper coins, all grots except for the one in the photo which I'd like some info/identification please.
Also found a complete brooch pin and spring, but no brooch.  Very unusual find methinks!! I can't get over how the spring and pin is all made from a single piece of metal, amazing skills considering it is maybe 1700 -2000 yrs old.
Rons finds included 2 grotty Romans, a cut quarter (Edward or Henry maybe) and an excellent condition Charles 1st hammered twenty pence.  First one we've seen.  Ron will post photos later.
So all-in-all a pretty good and enjoyable day.  Also had a great laugh on the way back to my vehicle when we met a local character named Tim Tickle.  Ha! Ha!

Thanks Dingdong and thank you Romana for the id. of my Roman coin.  I didn't have a clue as to who the emperor was.
And I've been told that what I think is a brooch pin is actually a LaTienne brooch from the late Iron Age.  Wow!!
I learn something new after every detecting foray.  I even answer history questions on the tv quizzes.  lol  !!!
