Had this cracking little Trajan Denarius last week, despite coming up crudded, it cleaned up lovely with very little sign of wear or circulation....Rev Annona stg left, holding grain ears & cornucopiae modius to left, prow to right... Wink

Sorry Doc, I forgot to get back to you. Well believe it or not, it was just a matter of soaking in lemon juice 20 minutes or so, followed by ultrasonic cleaning for 10 minutes, gentle rub, repeat process untill clean. As long as there is good silver content no harm done as you can see... Wink Im no expert on coin cleaning despite all the years detecting  Wink Wink

Fantastic coin there - I know my father still doesn't believe that they can come out of the ground in that condition - despite having seen me dig some up!
