Very nice coin find "Colwyn Bay"... Difficult to ID but I'll stick my neck out and say it's(possibly)..A Henry !!!....With regards to straightening it.....If it were me I would leave it well alone,I totally understand it's very tempting to try an straighten it out..BUT..Just think how you will feel when it's in two pieces....As I did !!!!.....Good luck, and good hunting..👍

Colwynbay.
If this is you first hammered, I would wait until you have a few more, then fall back on trying to unbend it. Have a look on 'you tube', there are some videos on straightening, silver is quite forgiving, but a word of warning ⚠️ and I cannot stress this too much, between heating and quenching only unbend by less than a mm each time, you will be tempted to rush, DO NOT, it takes a long time, each time check with your loop, if you see a crack forming, STOP.
A hammered coin is a hammered coin, some people think they have more character if you leave them as found.

could it be a love token? in which case I would think leaving it bended would be much more interesting....old silver can easily crack in half!

Hi thanks for all the good advice and in hindsight should have left it as is Roll Eyes just because it was bent and throw :)n away for a reason, but 5 mins after I posted this I went on utube so plenty of heat and 10 mins later this is my effort

One theory is that they were bent as a promise to a Saint that the owner would complete a pillgrimage to a particular shrine or Church, owner would carry them in their pocket as a reminder that they had made the promise and they still had to do it.
