HI all,

My name is Aled roberts I'm 26 from rhuddlan(north wales)

I've served 5 years in the army of which I've travelled the world and done 2 tours of Afghanistan of which I used a valon metal detector searching for bombs Wink

I've had my detector around two years now but have only just started to use it properly as a hobby.

In the last few weeks I've gone from being an complete ametuer to finally unearthing history much of which goes to georgian times.

So I  a nutshell that is me and I look forward to meeting many new people and sharing the hobby with many.

Yes welcome to this brilliant site,there are lots of people using it that can help with any problems you might have and a wealth of information. I to might see you in a field some time as I too am a north walian. So good luck and good hunting Aled.

Wishing you a very warm welcome to probably the best Detecting forum out there Aledrob,as has been previously mentioned,don't hesitate to ask questions,as we all had to start from the beginning,
I'm sure it out be very long before you start showing off your interesting finds,and I look forward to seeing them,and well you have a headstart on the most of us....There arnt many of us that could spot an IED..!!!!.... LOL !!.Good hunting..👍

Thankyou Dingdong and congerman I must say I've had a great start to the hobby now managed seven silver coins,roman coins,silver perfume stop and plenty of old pennies with the usual musket balls etc etc looking forward to my first big rally with DW aswel Smiley

To start with I only had a very basic model but have just brought a eurotek pro which so far I'm very pleased with. As the year goes on I will invest in a more expensive detector and the eurotek will become my spare but as for finds I really can't complain.I'm lucky enough yo have some good permissions aswel Smiley
