Hi guys, I've had a few trips since christmas although I've had to settle for pasture mainly due to heavy and wet field conditions, however here are a few of my search results, the old roman sestertius came up well deep although in bad condition, the 2 loom weights are from a roman site and came  up next to each other. The eddy penny was a welcome hammy, from a well worked pasture field. Wink

Paul, nice finds.Much better condition than mine. Well done again on some interesting finds. As for a beginner to choose metal detecting to be a hobby, You may be wondering about what are the best treasure metal detectors

Well, just to start, the Sestertius is of Trajan.

The Eddy is in great condition - at least class 10 as it is bifoliate, London Mint btw

My favourite of this batch is the first belt buckle - the kind of thing that is undervalued (as far as artefacts go), but really nice a personal item of someone.

Thanks Roland, the Trajon was around 11" deep and a nice signal. I to like the these buckles especially with decoration as this one has, yes crude but as you say a personal touch.
