Bad Apples

Perhaps the time has come when people like JantDrawayday who try & spoil things for the decent people should be vetted or maybe if their IP address is known can they be blocked?

This is the second time tonight that someone has done this & on the first ocassion the thread was disguised as an innocent post!

It really does annoy me especially as I clicked on the link earlier using the works computer that could result in me having a disiplinary so I hope your happy.

Hi Botty,
I'm sorry to hear that one of the posts on the site has caused you problems. We knew that the spammers would eventually discover us and our registration process, which has been unrestricted during our startup period, would have to be tightened up.

It looks as though the time to do this has arrived so from now on all new members will have to be approved by an administrator. This is not a foolproof process and the occasional spammer may still get through, so if anyone sees a post that breaks the rules please report it to an administrator or moderator.

JantDrawayday has been banned and the offending post removed.

Nice one Geoff, I know it must be very difficicult to police for you guys.
I just don't really understand the mentality of some people!
I was just annoyed as I clicked on what I thought was an innocent post.
Still, it won't spoil the Forum & life goes on.

Thank you very much for bring forum member "mastignMymnrum"  to my attention.
His post was deleted and hes no longer a forum member.

Myself and Alan know only to well thats happends when these people are left to run riot,
our own club forum was closed due to the actions of a bad Apple

Thanks to Members like burp reporting these spammer this ISNT going to be the case here
and now new members will have to be approved these bogus posts with be thankfully few and far between

Unfortunetly I was out most of Yesterday Detecting  so didnt see Burps Post regarding this Member untill the evening  ;0(
If anyone notices anything questionable  please notify Myself Phil Ynsboeth, Charles Cater or Neil  the site moderators as soon possible

yeah,  that certain bad apple case was taken out of our hands Phil wasn't it,  he consistantly broke the rules and hurled abuse about, altered members posted words and sentances to read something different, then sent it to other members complaining about it, lol.   we  were prevented from banning him by the higherachy which just allowed him to run riot and get the forum closed down.   in fact  they reinstated him after he was banned ?
