I found this on Sunday but I haven't a clue what it is. It's about 16mm in diameter an appears to be made of lead. An early fruit gum perhaps?

I had one exactly the same....theyre called farm tokens and were used to pay the laborer

Thanks all. Following your suggestions I had a quick search through the PAS site at finds.org.uk and there seem to be quite a few similar objects listed. As you say, possibly a token or gaming piece and probably much older than I thought when I first dropped it in my little bag...

I'm not sure they'll exchange it for scrumpy down at the coop!

Could be an old utensil to decorate pottery,I've seen similar ones but with a stalk
