Well you asked for it Paul. This one is a test. I've had to down size it and want to see if it's readable. Here goes-----think you'll need a magnifier.  So much for that idea !

Hi Paul, a few more. I thought it might be interesting for some, including you, to see what the PAS folks find worthy of recording. I was a bit surprised myself but then what do I know.
I've also discovered that if you have an iPad you can zoom in and read the print. So here's another 4 for you to have a look at, still another 3 after that.

Where am I?

« Reply #27 on: November 29, 2017, 11:07:39 PM »

Well I hav'nt been out in ages hence nothing to show really, but I would .like to share this one. Detected on one of my return visits to my small Roman coin hoard location. The rim of Bronze/Silverised pot which was about 18" down and placed perfectly upside down. The round piece in the middle is the base of a smaller pot which was placed inside the bigger one and again upside down. FLO told me that they where probably placed as some sort of symbolic ritual and could have belonged to someone of quite high status, maybe a retired high ranking soldier. This pot rim is now part of the ongoing treasure case. Alas no coins inside the pot but nevertheless a beautiful Roman artifact me thinks. Thank you for taking a peek.

very nice pot - Smiley - we all find bits and pieces of bronze pot now and again, so it's really nice to seem something as special as that.
