Nice lot of finds Mike apart from my silver thimble I had three copper coins , oldest George 11. Would be nice to get the seal identified if possible. I wouldn't mind going back to Gileston again in the future as it always turns up good finds. I noticed that he has maize fields still to crop in October.

Interesting seal. Lovely find.

the seal came from the manor field , 2nd hole of the day  Smiley , all the romans did indeed come from the known hotspot which i gridded for over 2 hrs , worth the effort though  Smiley Smiley

Looks like you had a good day Mike, I like the seal. I've got a similar one which Mark Lodwick dated to 12/13th century. Well done.

Great stuff Mike. The seal is a very nice find and the effort you put in on the Roman spot was well worthwhile.

Nice finds there Mike - The top and the right hand romans are house of Valentinian (Securitas Reipublicae and Gloria Romanorum I think, the last Arelate mint) - the other two are House of Constantine - the left being the man himself - Soli Invicto Comiti and the usual Gloria Exercitus.

NIce seal too.

Didn't have much luck myself - I'm thinking that I might have a damaged coil as my detector has been very sparky recently and the coil cover has a crack in it.

btw I went off to a sheep filled field and found a toy cannon and a bottle though Smiley
