Decided yesterday afternoon we would give Treaddur Bay a try being as it was so nice an afternoon.
Not much to be found though. Then a woman came to us and asked if we'd mind searching for her husband's wedding band as he lost it while messing about in the sea at high tide that morning. Didn't hold out much hope though as someone had already tried that morning but we said we'd give it a try.
Anyway after about an hour we decided we'd about had enough - no sign of anything only bottle tops!!
I'd been cross hatching the part of the beach where he'd lost it but were quite a few people sitting about. On my last pass a group of people had moved off and as I turned about and started to detect back for one last time, two strides and gets a signal around 44-45 on my Racer 2. Nearly blew my ears off on overload so tipped in my spade and flicked and there it was. You should have seen his face when we gave him a shout. Beeeeming it was, said we'd saved his marriage hahaha.
He insisted we took a reward of £20 for our trouble which bought our supper on the way home n a pint of course.
By the way it was a Palladium? wedding band so wasn't sure what signal it would give. If I'd found it unknowing would have thought it was silver - never got chance to see any hallmark.

Well done that man. Another mark-up for detecting. Welcome to the ring finders club. Great to see thier faces when they see it back on thier finger again. Well worth the effort.

As Val so rightly says, well done on your efforts and an even bigger well done for your honesty, you are a credit to all he rest of the metal detecting fraternity.👍
Also great to know you found it with Macro RACER 2
I detect with the original RACER,and there's no better detector out there..(in my opinion)....others may disagree.... LOL..😁

You can't beat a good deed especially when it results in a free supper and a pint.  Smiley

Thanks for all the comments folks - Not had the Racer 2 very long and just getting used to it really.

For those of you not in the know! With a name like Sheila I think I might just be female, was last time I checked, but do like to be classed as one of the lads anyway!  Grin Roll Eyes
