I think I'll have to invite some of the better detectorists to the farm I go to one day - I went to a 'well done' field and managed two buttons and that was it!

I think we've all had the expectations on a return trip and found nothing, but, you just don't know, you may have gone over something at the wrong angle and missed more goodies

I go to a farm where almost all the fields are permanent pasture - and have been detected by many people over the years - it's also known as a quiet farm. I have no doubt that the action of worms / ploughing if it ever happened would transform the place, after all I've found some wonderful things on the farm, but there are plenty of times I go to the farm, to re-check some of the previously good fields where I repeatedly get no signals any more (I've gridded them in many directions / dug u the minerals and even iron) - Mike would be able to tell you Smiley Anyway, I'm playing the organ for the farmer's youngest daughter in a week, so you never know he might tell me about some other fields! I'm pretty certain on the quiet field there are more hammereds waiting there, but just out of detecting range......

I have many hobbies Smiley - I was taught by Brecon Cathedral Organist, and playing was my job for three and half years before I returned to nanotechnology.

It reminds of the old joke - 'did you see that fish playing the piano in the corner there - he was quite remarkable - that's because he is a piano tuna'.....
