Evening all, for those interested it turns out an expert in Lincolnshire has said my strap end is viking not Saxon, I am well pleased as its my second viking find.

Nice one Chris, I actually found my Viking pommel with the Garrett 250 on one of the first club digs I went on lol

Don't bank on it - I've got two bits of 'hack silver' in the museum - it's been two years or so and it hasn't even got as far as the inquest yet!
