« on: June 18, 2016, 06:05:38 PM »

Hi to all,
This little pot leg came to light while detecting on my 'new'Roman coin find field.
What I am wondering is,could this little beauty possibly be of Roman origin ?
The reasons for asking is that I've found pot legs before but they were all the same 'verdigree' green colour.
This one is brown black, red,and green in colour just seems to be a little different  than the others I've found, well, what do you think.?
Thanks for reading..👍

Not the easiest things to give an age to Chris. The black and red are caused by being used on an open fire. Burned iron tends to go red. The green is the usual patena of bronze. So go figure.
The only thing you can count on is they are very old. Always nice to find one though. They usually give a cracking signal.  Grin
